Here is a short teaser video for our new single “Sounds Like Love”. If you have seen us perform recently, you probably heard us play an acoustic version of the song. We recorded the studio version at Suburban Soul Studios in Torrance, had it mixed in Nashville by Brandon Epps (Jason Aldean, Kelly Clarkson) and mastered by Richard Dodd (Kings of Leon). Needless to say we are super excited to release the song in the very near future.

This vid gives you a glimpse into the studio sessions and the brilliant players we had on the song, including David Immergluck of the Counting Crows on electric guitar. We’ll be shooting an official video for the soon, but for now please enjoy this chorus-sized nugget. Yes, we said nugget.

New York Music Video (CAKE LIVE / Camp RED)

We were asked to take part in Camp RED/Cake Live at RED Studios in Hollywood this summer. Here is a video of our song “New York” that was shot and edited by kids age 9-15 using multiple RED Epic cameras. We think they did an amazing job!

Up In the Woods In the San Bernadines….

We spent a few days last week at a cabin up in the San Bernardino mountains. It was a magical time of writing, relaxing and exploring. The area was apparently a favorite spot for Jim Morrison and we were definitely feeling some creative vibes! The highlight vid above includes clips of some new songs we were working on, the potbelly stove we used to stay warm, and some fierce Jenga battles… there’s also a bonus clip of the best costume we saw at Downtown Disney this year. Check it out!

* * * Sounds Like Love * * *

We recently spent a few weekends at a studio in Torrance, CA recording a new song called “Sounds Like Love”. The song was the result of jamming between sets during our Downtown Disney residency. A demo of the song has already been garnering attention from people who work in film and television, and we are hopeful that it will find its way into a major motion picture in the near future.

In addition to brilliant performances by our own band members, we had the distinct privilege of having David Immergluck from the Counting Crows play electric guitar on the song. Needless to say, he brought the track to a whole new level of rocking-ness.
